Indira Institute of Management, Pune   (Affiliated to University of Pune & Recognized by A.I.C.T.E)   MBA Induction - August 2009         Indira Institute of Management, Pune has a tradition of conducting a Thematic Induction from the last 5 years and this year again it has come up with a very unique and relevant theme with today’s current scenario of “Emerging India”.     The Guest of Honour for the programme was Honourable Supriya Sule, (M.P. NCP).  Other eminent speakers were Dr. Arun Nigvekar, Former Chairman UGC and chief mentor SeamLess Education Academy who  enlightened the students with his speech on Emerging India with educative perspective and Mr. Ramakrishnan Ganesh, VP-HR, Oracle financial services.              The induction started with orientation of MBA students towards Indira’s  culture and making them familiar to Indira environment. It was followed by allotting Research Projects to students related to public issues. With the help of different evaluation tools the students competency level will be judged. The students underwent a medical check up too, after the Induction process.  The most interesting part of Indira’s induction is Outdoor Management Training, wherein the students learn a lot of management skills through different and unique management games designed specially for them.     This year the 15 groups  studied the various ‘Public Systems and Departments’ managed by Pune Municipal Corporation and presented findings and suggestions – that includes the BSNL, MSEB, Water, Transport, Public Gardens, and Roads etc.
